Customer challenges
- Diversification and decarbonization of Brazil’s energy mix
- Replacing high-carbon energy sources while supplementing renewable generation
ENGIE solution
ENGIE is the largest private energy producer in Brazil. It operates an installed capacity of 10,207 MW at 42 power plants, representing approximately 6% of the country’s capacity. Most (90%) of the Group’s installed capacity in the country comes from clean and renewable sources, which generate low greenhouse gas emissions.
With a proven ability to operate sophisticated large-scale infrastructure (developing, building and operating large infrastructure in the gas and power sectors), ENGIE will develop new uses for gas transportation networks stemming from new technologies such as biomethane and green hydrogen.
It will thus contribute to the diversification and decarbonization of Brazil’s energy mix, replacing high-carbon energy sources and supplementing renewable energies.
