This means that the Wimereux stage initially scheduled between June 12 and 14 is now postponed to September 11-13. However, the Lorient stage initially scheduled for the end of June has had to be canceled for this year, but will return next year. Brittany will therefore gain a new stage in 2021.
After the Arcachon stage that was held successfully between March 13 and 15, there are now three ENGIE KITE TOUR 2020 stages remaining:
- September 11-13: Wimereux
- September 25-27: La Grande Motte
- October 9-11: Hyères Almanarre
Windy Wimereux
Wimereux will host the second stage of the ENGIE Kite Tour 2020 between September 11 and 13. Last year, Wimereux proved to be the windiest and most spectacular stage of the entire tour.
Locals Anaïs Mai Desjardins and Charles Brodel will be defending their titles in Foil and Twin Tip respectively, while directional board rider and ENGIE Ambassador Alex Caizergues will attempt another perfect finish on the Opal Coast.
A Mediterranean final
Having competed on the Atlantic coast off Arcachon and the Channel coast off Wimereux, the ENGIE Kite Tour 2020 will go south to the Mediterranean coast for two eagerly awaited stages hosted in two venues highly rated by kitesurfers: La Grande-Motte between September 25 and 27, and Hyères-Almanarre for the Grand Final between October 9 and 11.
